BIRDIE HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING. This cutie with the polka-dotted ears is Birdie, a 1 year-old Beagle/Cattledog mix female who’s all puppy. She was adopted from a shelter but the other dog in the home did not like her so she was brought back to them and from there went into a foster home before coming to Canine Lifeline. According to the shelter, Birdie has lived with cats and will chase them for fun but if the cat held his ground and didn’t run, Birdie lost interest and would move on to other things. She could likely live in a home with kitties again as long as she was supervised closely at first. Birdie LOVES playing with other dogs so would really enjoy a new home with another playful canine for her to pal around with. She does seem to have some herding breed in her family tree as she loves nipping at the heels of other dogs when she’s playing with them. Birdie is very affectionate with people and a very loving dog. She has done well with crate-training and housetraining in her foster home so should continue both in her new home. She is a quick learner and should pick up a new routine quickly. Birdie weighs about 33 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email [email protected] if you’re interested in Birdie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Birdie and to submit an online application.
